Snow White: Requiem for a Dream by knight-of-sand Snow White: Requiem for a Dream by knight-of-sand
That's a pity children don't watch Disney films now. These all fairytales were full of magic and just wonderful. I just love them and even I'm 18 now I can watch them all the time! Snow White is one of my favourites :aww:!! What's your favourite Disney film :)?

Made with:

It's the first watercolor piece or your i've seen and it really stands out from all the other watercolors on DA. It makes me want to see more of your works, it's great.
I love your technique of miximg colors yet keep the picture clean. Shadows and light are made perfectly, everything has volume and the parts of the composition don't bland together yet belong superbly. I absolutely adore the dreamy look of the picture.
The detailing is perfect, her face is very alive, it seems like she's going to take a breath the next second.
I've given you 3 stars for originality, sorry, just because it's a Snow White and we've seen her so many times. But still your take on this theme is really nice, only the cross on her forehead make me confused, i don't really get what you wante to say by that.
Overall, you did an amazing job and i wish you best of luck and inspiration for the future works!

This is easily one of the most stunning Snow White fan art pieces to be seen in a long time.
One of the first things noticeable about this piece is how innocuous and pure it all is. Snow White is depicted here in a very childlike manner, not sexualized in any way, and that is very refreshing to see. The colored are soft and muted and natural, and the realistic style of dress, hair and face is a beauty to behold. The dashes of white on the eyelashes and lips resemble snow, and that adds to the thematic representation of the piece.
Merit aside, this piece is not without its flaws. It's not clear exactly what the cross on her forehead has to do with the theme, story or painting, and that sort of obscurity confuses the viewer rather than enthrall. Also, the bow on her head seems to have no base and appears to be floating above her head, it would be better if some ribbon could be seen through the hair and more use of shadow around to add depth.
Overall, a lovely, beautifully painted and refreshingly innocent and pure, this picture is one to be remembered.

Heck I'm already 27 and I still like to watch Disney Princess movies whenever I catch them on TV. I like the older style of animation, when everything was drawn and each frame was so carefully and delicately made. I used to wonder as a child how terribly difficult it must have been to finish a whole movie!
And what a wonderful watercolor piece.

Hehe, I hope when I am 27 I will also watch Disney movies ;).
Oh yes, I thought the same way! And still I'm impressed by creators of these all drawings!
Thank you !
